Hello, I'm Alexandros.

PhD Student in Organizational Behavior at UT Austin

I am a first-year doctoral researcher in Organizational Behavior at the McCombs School of Business, The University of Texas at Austin. My research interests center on how individuals and teams organize, collaborate, and make decisions in work environments. I am particularly interested in team dynamics, employee voice, psychological safety and corporate culture. In addition, I am increasingly curious about how emerging technologies reshape human judgment, accountability, and interactions.

My transition into academia was driven by a desire to research the organizational realities I have experienced. From military to global corporate teams, I have lived across five continents and worked with people from across the world. This cross-cultural journey exposed me to how deeply identity, norms, and institutional environments shape human potential. Today, my goal is to translate those experiences into rigorous research aimed at helping people and teams in organizations thrive.

Self-Selection and Social Influence Biases in Reviewing Behaviour

Developed by Aristidou, A. (supervised by Dr. Jovan Vojnovic)

University of Edinburgh — Master's Thesis

Through a series of empirical analysis, including sentiment analysis, on a sample of reviews from Amazon.com, we examine how self-selection and social influence biases give rise to asymmetrically bimodal sampling distribution of ratings, closely resembling a J-curve shape. The results reveal that infrequent reviewers are driven by reciprocity, indicating that a greater proportion of their ratings are extreme with either 1* or 5* score. We further observe that reviewing behaviour is likely influenced by existing reviews through the mechanisms of conformity and anchoring.
